Breitling's unconventional chronograph with a motoring twist. A distinctive celebration of design and freedom, the Breitling Top Time Classic Cars Squad pays homage to classic sports cars from the 1960s with a trio of racing chronographs. Drawing inspiration from the Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and Shelby Cobra, the timepieces are a nod to the original 1960s Breitling Top Time models, which were designed for “young and active professionals”. Today’s modern-retro interpretations are perhaps even more youthful and free-spirited.

The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette, distributed from 1963 to 1967, is the most sought-after version of this American legend. The “Sting Ray” took inspiration from a 1959 racing-focused prototype. Thanks to its slinky low-profile body, it looks stunning to this day. And with its performance both on the road and on the track, it has always haunted the dreams and sparked the imaginations of aficionados around the world.

Featuring a 42-millimetre stainless-steel case matched to a black racing-themed calfskin leather strap, the Top Time Chevrolet Corvette features orange and yellow details on its red dial and the Chevrolet Corvette logo both on the dial and the caseback. The Top Time Chevrolet Corvette is powered by the Breitling Caliber 25, a COSC-certified chronometer precise up to 1/8th of a second.

History of Breitling

Getting into the watch manufacturing business in the mid-1880s was no easy feat. Switzerland was experiencing the worst part of a long recession. Yet, despite the economic difficulty, social unrest and uncertainty about the future, 24-year-old Léon Breitling stayed true to his vision of creating instruments that could measure, divide and master time.

Today, Georges Kern and his team continue the rich tradition that began in a small workshop in St. Imier in 1884. The product portfolio was restructured around the brand's three historic universes: Air, Land and Sea. Breitling redefined itself as "a generalist Swiss watch brand offering a cool, informal and inclusive alternative" to traditional watchmakers.
