Community and Charity Work Planned for this Year:
Rokart 2020
This year we are proud sponsors of the annual 2020 Rokart go-karting event. This event is organised by the Nene Valley Rotary Club and Teamworks Karting. It is an indoor go-karting event that is all in aid of charity. It involves many local companies from Northamptonshire competing in 10 “heats”. The idea is to race and compete to win a trophy; all while raising money for different charities. In previous years, the Rokart event has raised thousands of pounds for charity. All of the money raised at this event has been given to different local charities within the community, including Ups n Downs, Kidsaid, Macmillan, Northampton Sailability and the Cynthia Spencer Hospice.We’re in the driving seat
This year will also be the second year in which we will be entering a team from Michael Jones Jeweller to compete in the fun and competitive event. To call us ‘rookies’ would be a generous understatement, however, we shall do our best to win. Hopefully, we can do better than our team last year at the very least. The “heat” of Rokart 2020 takes place on the 3rd of March. Wish us luck!Santa Fun Run in Northampton
We are proud to announce that we are also a sponsor of the Santa Fun Run this year. The fancy dress fun run event takes place at 11am on Sunday 6th December at The Racecourse in Northampton. It will mark the second time in which this Santa run event has taken place in Northampton town centre. These types of events are a great way to get into the festive spirit, as well as raising money for great charities in the local community.
One added bonus for those signing up to this event: all entrants receive a free Santa outfit to take part in!
The annual Santa fun run event is organised by all four of the Northampton Rotary Clubs. This event helps to raise money for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice, Alzheimer’s Society, The Lowdown, and The Hope Centre.
Raffle Prize Donations
Over the last year, we have donated a lot of raffle prizes to many different worthy causes across Northamptonshire. Here at Michael Jones Jeweller, we always give away a lot of raffle prizes, particularly around Christmas. Mainly because there are lots of different fetes and bazaars happening at this time and within the local area. In previous years, we have donated raffle prizes to a number of different primary schools, community groups, hospital fundraisers, and local hospices. We have also donated raffle prizes or money to local people in Northampton. Some of the money raised has gone to some amazing charities such as:- The Mayor of Northampton’s chosen charity, The Lowdown
- HFT
- RNLI
- RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch
- Barclaycard raising money for Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service (NDAS)
