TAG HEUER CARRERA CHRONOGRAPH GMT: TRAVEL FOR DNA
TAG Heuer presents a new version of its in-house movement with a GMT function. A tool matching the young generation’s hunger for travel and adventure.
Epitomizing the Avant-Garde from its creation in 1963 right up to the brand new line, and including innovative pieces such as the ultramodern Connected Modular, the TAG Heuer Carrera collection celebrates its 55th anniversary in 2018. A fantastic occasion for the Swiss watch brand to unveil a new chronograph version equipped with a GMT function. This new model adopts the design codes and DNA of the Heuer Carrera, featuring the original "3-6-9" counter layout from 1963. The chronograph minutes and hours are at 3 and 9 o'clock, with the permanent small second at 6 o'clock and the date window at 4:30, completed by the GMT function. It is the first time that TAG Heuer has added this complication to its prestigious manufacture movement. The second time zone, an ultra-practical feature that can be adjusted with the crown, is read using the lacquered red hand and the black and blue ceramic bezel, which has a 24-hour GMT scale. To ensure optimum legibility, the GMT hand has been ingeniously mounted in a secondary position — between the hour and minute hands — enabling it to pass over the indexes and skim the GMT scale. The manufacture movement, visible through the skeleton dial, is housed inside a solid 45 mm steel case, water-resistant to 100 metres. As daring as it is refined, this model boldly demonstrates the height of the Swiss watch brand's avant-garde technology.
TAG HEUER CARRERA CHRONOGRAPH TOURBILLON CHRONOMETER: TÊTE DE VIPÈRE CERTIFIED
The first TAG Heuer chronograph to be "Tête de Vipère” certified, a hallmark of excellence and exclusiveness, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer is unveiled in a limited, 155-piece edition for the TAG Heuer Carrera collection’s 55-year anniversary.
Since 1897, the Observatory of Besançon, in France, certifies the high metrological quality of watches under ‘Viper Head’ (“Tête de Vipère”) standards. A public and independent body, its emblem, having only been affixed on 300 watches since its recovery in 2008, is a guarantor of excellence and ultimate precision. TAG Heuer wished to affix an exclusive and authentic sign, guaranteeing unmatched precision, on its new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the TAG Heuer Carrera collection. This new, contemporary version presents two of traditional watchmaking’s most fascinating complications: an eye-pleasing tourbillon and a chronograph, produced and developed within the TAG Heuer factory, "Tête de Vipère" certified. The movement is housed in a dark blue ceramic case, embellished with a bezel and ceramic horns. An enchanting tint, also added to the movement’s mass and barrel. As a witness of premium Swiss watchmaking, the finishes are polished, brushed and micro-ballasted for an elegant and modern result. Visible through the sapphire crystal, on the bottom of the box, the "Viper Head" stamp is printed on the bridge. More than a sign of quality and precision, this hallmark stamp attests to the watch’s technical standard of expertise that brushes perfection. To obtain this certificate of excellence, each watch was subjected to a 16-day test protocol, in five positions and at three different temperatures. This was applied to both the watch and movement. Sporty and racy just like the TAG Heuer Carrera collection itself, the watch is complemented by a rubber-sewn black alligator strap with blue stitching. A symbol of performance and high-quality manufacturing expertise, the “Tête de Vipère” certified, Bleu Nuit (dark blue) TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer once again assembles TAG Heuer’s excellence, the brand’s vanguard since 1860.TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady Calibre 9 Automatic
TAG Heuer's sporty, elegant model relaunched with a Calibre 9 automatic movement.
Ever the pioneer, in 1892, Edouard Heuer filed the first patent for a watertight case in the history of watchmaking. It was an immediate success. Since that time, the Aquaracer (a collection created in 2003) has continued to evolve, becoming a sports watch beloved by men and women in equal measure. Also cherished by TAG Heuer, this highly technical sub-aquatic collection is synonymous with reliability, freedom and surpassing oneself. This year sees TAG Heuer launch a brand new women's version equipped with a Calibre 9 automatic movement. Water resistant to 300 metres, this sporty watch displays the iconic codes of the Aquaracer collection. It has a 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel featuring 6 polished lugs, and hands and indices covered with white SuperLuminova™ for enhanced visibility and optimal legibility in deep water. New features on this version include the striated dial, the date window with magnifier and the second hand with arrow. It also boasts the distinctive technical characteristics of the Aquaracer Automatic collection. In steel with a magnificent dial in black or white mother of pearl, the diameter of this model is an elegant 32 mm. The Aquaracer Lady is also available with a dial set with eleven 1.40 mm diamonds (0.11 ct) for a touch of added glamour. The bracelet is also steel, for optimal comfort, and alternates brushed links on the outside with polished links in the centre. A highly technical model for today's active woman who wants a watch suitable for all occasions.
TAG HEUER CARRERA CALIBRE 16: THE SPORTY CHRONOGRAPH
The iconic TAG Heuer Carrera collection celebrates its 55th anniversary with two new versions and a sporty appeal.
Since its beginning in 1963, many famous pilots, such as Juan Manuel Fangio, have been wearing the TAG Heuer Carrera collection. On and off the track, the set is inseparable from timekeeping and motor racing. In 2018, the myth goes on. For the TAG Heuer Carrera’s 55th anniversary, two new timepieces celebrate this extraordinary heritage. Both regarding content and shape: a powerful motor with a Caliber 16-powered chronograph, and a design: as sporty as vintage. Two colours are available: black or blue. Some hints of red recall the collection’s attachment to motorsports, as do the three white counters on the dial. With a 41mm-diameter, this latter is topped by a bezel with a scale of 60 seconds, white too. A design inspired by the 1970s, when the rise of motor racing required clear and readable timing. Aesthetics blends with ergonomics with the precision at one-tenth of a second of the movement carried on the small counter at nine o'clock. The minute counter is set at 12 o'clock and the hour counter is at 6 o'clock. Finally, a ceramic bezel with tachymeter scale makes these two watches genuine automobile chronographs. To complete their vintage and sporty look, two types of bracelets are available. Black perforated leather with red stitching for elegance on the black version, or steel for optimal comfort on the blue one. Standing as symbols of TAG Heuer's passion for racing and its heritage, these two new TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 chronographs perpetuate the alliance between accurate timekeeping and sporty design, continuously revamped.
