They say that once you've had a date on your watch, you wont be able to live without it. The date is displayed through a window in the dial.

This is the addition of the day of the week displayed on the dial.

Perpetual Calendar
Most date features work on a rolling 31 day date wheel. If the month has less than 31 days then the wearer will have to manually change it. A perpetual calendar take into account the days in the month and even correlates with leap years. This can be built into the movement of the watch or be radio controlled.

Chronograph
This is a common feature on many sportier watches and acts as a stopwatch. The measured time is usually displayed on a smaller sub-dial. The chronograph will not interfere with the time on the watch.

Moonphase
For lunar lovers, you can have a feature on your watch that shows the earth side sunlit portion of the moon. A celestial watch feature.

Sub-Seconds
On some watches, the hand that ticks seconds is not attached to the centre of the dial with the other hands but has its own smaller sub-dial.

Tachymeter
A tachymeter is a scale around the dial on a watch and is used to calculate speed based on time travelled over a fixed distance.
