A brand-new retail space has opened at Workbridge, Northampton supporting service users to develop their skills and work experience in a retail environment. Anne Jones joined our Directors Tuesday 29th June 2021 to open the new retail space officially and celebrate the Workbridge legacy, it may have rained but it was a lovely day for sharing stories and welcoming opportunities for the service users and staff on-site

Our namesake and inspiration, the late Michael Jones, was one of the founders of Workbridge almost 41 years ago, Anne Jones was kind enough to say a few words at the humble opening ceremony about the history of this wonderful scheme and we were so happy to join her in this celebration
Michael Jones and Dorothy Davidson of St Andrew's Hospital met each other through MIND Northamptonshire in the 1970s. They went on to discuss and plan the creation of a supported "bridge to work" centre in Northampton to offer people with a range of mental health needs, life and work skills.

The idea became known as Workbridge and was established on 10th June 1980 in Northampton.

Now the staff of Michael Jones Jeweller continue to volunteer time and regularly support the teams and service users causes to make sure the connection never waivers.

The new shop will stock beautiful handmade items and gifts made by service users and instructors at Workbridge, as well as pre-loved clothing and homeware.
Michael Jones Jeweller has loved being part of the Workbridge family for so many decades. We are so proud to be working with Workbridge and St Andrew's Healthcare in 2021 to open their new gift shop.
